KNOW YOUR RIGHTS
The rules exist. Most people just never read them.
Work rights, police stops, contracts, renting.

THE THINGS TO KNOW
four ideas that cover most of it
01
Your rights at work
Over 40 hours a week, most hourly workers are owed 1.5x pay. You must be paid for all hours worked — 'off the clock' work is illegal, not loyal.
02
If you're stopped
Stay calm, keep hands visible. You can ask 'Am I free to go?' and say 'I don't consent to searches.' You have the right to remain silent.
03
Your rights as a renter
Deposits must be returned (minus documented damage), repairs are usually the landlord's job, and eviction requires a legal process — not a text.
04
Contracts bind you
Your signature is a promise with teeth. Read it, ask questions, get a copy, and remember: 'I didn't read it' is not a defense.
